NRL Tips Round 11

There is very little to be excited about this weekend. Personally, I despise the Origin rounds. A reduced number of games. Depleted teams. And it messes with your Fantasy team. Let’s just hope we can find some winners!

Here’s our preview and Tips for Round 11 of the NRL

RABBITOHS V EELS – FRI 22 MAY, 7:45PM ANZ STADIUM

Just when it looked like things couldn’t get any worse for the Eels, the salary cap auditor has unleashed more hell on the troubled club. Origin respite should bring Parramatta right into this against a Souths side missing some key troops at a crucial time in their season revival. It’s hard to see that happening though. Even without their two best players in Inglis and Reynolds they should have enough to edge past the Eels. Expect big things from Alex Johnston. He’ll play fullback in the absence of Inglis, only a fortnight after making his test debut.

WESTS TIGERS V COWBOYS – SAT 23 MAY, 7:30PM, CAMPBELLTOWN STADIUM

Even without Johnathan Thurston it would take a brave soul to tip against the Cowboys given the form they’ve been in. But the absentee list runs much deeper than that. Tamou, Scott and maybe Michael Morgan will all be missing, and they’re big names to cover. Woods and Farah won’t be there for the Tigers. It will be interesting to see how the Moses-Brooks-Tedesco combinations fares with the responsibility of leading the team around thrust upon their shoulders. They’re way too talented to doubt.

RAIDERS V BULLDOGS – SUN 24 MAY, 4:00PM, GIO STADIUM

Much to the Raiders’ chargrin they are one of just three teams unaffected by Origin selection and take a full-strength side into this. The Bulldogs are missing plenty and now they’re skipper James Graham is also missing. Throw in the Canberra Stadium factor and it’s impossible to go past the Raiders

KNIGHTS V BRONCOS – MON 25 MAY, 7:00PM, HUNTER STADIUM

This is the time of year that sends cold shivers through the administration at the Broncos. Brisbane are missing five players on Origin duty. The Knights just the one. But gee Newcastle were poor last week – and yet they won! The Broncos still boast Milford, Hunt and McCullough. That could be enough against the Knights.
